Day of handicraft in Kauhava
The morning starts off softly with some lovely yarns at the Lankava shop specialising in yarns, craft supplies, tube yarns and rug yarns.
If you love antiques, you should stop by the Antiikkia ja Aarteita shop near the train station, which is bursting with all kinds of wonderful old items.
Inspiration for the day is provided by Tuulia design’s craft shop, which is full of inspiring materials and supply kits. Ideas come at no extra charge!
After lunch, it is nice to wander around the flea markets. There are two cosy flea markets on Kauppatie: Kirpputori Aarrekammio and Kauhavan Lähetystori. Both also have a café.
Meanwhile, the service-oriented and versatile Kilokangas is a sewing enthusiast’s wonderland, with a range of fabrics for clothing, interior decoration and curtains, as well as anything else you might need for sewing.
Opposite Kauhava Church is the Iisakki Järvenpää Knife Factory, where you can learn about the tradition of knife making. The factory outlet sells all sorts of nice things to take home.
Note: You can take this tour in an environmentally friendly way without a car, as all these places are located close to the Kauppatie street. The furthest destination, the knife factory, is only about 2 km from the train station.
