Pauli Kankaanpää was born and lives in Mäenpää village in Kauhava, known for its know-making traditions. The 19th century, carved-handled Kauhava knife is only one example of the knives created by Pauli Kankaanpää. He also won the Finnish championship for decorated knives in 2009. All knives are made by hand.
