Samburger was founded in 1984 on the square in Kauhava The grill was small and the menu did not have much on it aside from hamburgers, French fries and grilled sausages. Samburger expanded into a small space in Seinäjoki in the parking lot of a pesäpallo field in 1989. It was at this time that the Samberger menu included a wider selection of food than in the early days of the Kauhava site. 

The Kauhava Samburger built its current premises in 1990. This facilitated an even wider selection of food and more efficient food preparation.
