Keskikangas House
The Keskikangas House oversaw the cultivation of the fields along the River Lapuajoki in the middle of Kankaankylä, Ylihärmä.The oldest part of the house was built in the 1770s and was extended in the beginning of the 19th century. The project to turn Keskikangas into a regional house was completed in 2000.
The house was awarded the Southern Ostrobothnia construction prize. Every summer, a garden party is hosted on the first summer of August in the yard of this fine house. Because the häiy of the era made it their practice to visit the house to make their mark, the good häjy of today honor the tradition by appearing at garden parties and other events. The house also hosts art and other exhibitions in the summer months. The Kankaan kyläseura.maintains the house.
