Kauhava’s Midsummer Harness Racing Event
The Kauhava Midsummer Harness Racing Event is Ravirata Oy’s main event of the year and an important part of the Midsummer celebration. The event gathers a couple of thousand spectators every year to enjoy the unique atmosphere where tradition and modernity meet. The audience includes both enthusiasts of the sport as well as travellers and former Kauhava residents who come to spend Midsummer Sunday in the company of acquaintances. Nationally known guests bring additional color to the harness racing event – for example, in 2006, Olympic champion Toni Nieminen was present.
